Michael Shakely, an O‘ahu-based photographer and recent graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a degree in Marine Biology, finds inspiration in the natural world. When he's not behind the lens, he can be found exploring the island, freediving, or training for an upcoming Ironman. His journey as a photographer began in high school when he discovered his passion for photographing his adventures with friends. Michael aspires to continue to grow as a photographer and use his photographs to raise awareness about the challenges facing whales and other marine species, aiming to shed light on pressing environmental issues.
